Katrina McGee
Swimming: Glacier Swim Club (Juneau,
AK) and also Juneau-Douglas High School until the age
of 18. I was a breaststroker and competed in the
Alaska State Championships 3 out of 4 years. I was
also elected captain my senior year.
Coaching: Pullman
Swim Club in 2001-2002. I coached the developmental
group both 8 and unders and also a middle school
group. Spokane Waves Aquatic Team under Heidi Kuntz
from 2003-2006. I held multiple coaching roles while
with SWAT. I have coached everything from five and
six year olds, brand new to the team, all the way up
to subbing for the seniors. I have focused mostly
with developmental kids ages 8-13. One of my high
points with SWAT was taking five of my junior level
kids (11-12 year olds) to Age Group Sectionals in
Federal Way, WA in 2004. I have also attended the
2006 World’s Coaching Clinic in Ft. Lauderdale,
Florida. I believe in helping my swimmers set goals,
and also working on developing proper technique while
improving endurance and a love of swimming.
In addition to
swimming I am an elementary teacher. This will be my
fifth year in teaching. I taught three years in
Spokane in grades 4th and 1st.
This will be my second year in Caldwell. I will be
teaching 4th grade at Wilson
